  3. MacPPP 2.0.1k2 Modification to display the connect speed.

  6. What is it ?

  8. MacPPP does not display its connect speed.  High speed modems(V.34 or V.FC)
  9. often connect at less than 28.8Kbps.  This patch displays the start-up connect
  10. speed in the dial-up dialogue box.

  12. How to install
  13.  
  14. 1. Before installing this patch, finish installing and configuring MacPPP
  15.     v.2.0.1 normally.
  16. 2. Simply drag & drop the file "PPP" onto your System (or extensions)
  17.     folder.  Replace original "PPP" with patched "PPP".
  18. 3. Restart your mac.

  23. This patch will work on Hayes compatible modems. It has the same
  24. requirements as original MacPPP.   Its intention is to display the modem
  25. connection result (CONNECT 28,800) and not port speed, although certain
  26. modems can display both.   Enjoy.

  29. Macintosh Centris 650 RAM20MB/HDD500/CD
  30. System 7.5(Japanese KANJI TALK7.5) with ZM-System 7.5 Update 1.0 + ZM-NSI 1.5
  31. MacTCP 2.0.6 + MacPPP 2.0.1
  32. Modem:OMRON ME2824B
  33. and Macintosh IIci+system7.1(Japanese KANJI TALK7.1)
